Accommodation and food

The following information is correct as of September 2001

Lymington isn't a large town, so none of these addresses is far from where the boat picks up. Try to book early if possible. In no particular order:

Bed and breakfast:

Admiral House, 3 Stanley Road, Lymington, 01590 674339. Room for 6 persons. Earliest breakfast 07:00 or by arrangement. £13 per head. Very close to the boat pick up.

Holly Lodge, Milford Road, Lymington. 01590 673388. Room for 4 in two double rooms. Earliest breakfast 0530. £15 per head.

Jevington, 47 Waterford Lane, Lymington. 01590 672148. Room for 6 persons. Earliest breakfast 07:30 or packed meal by arrangement if earlier. £23 per head. Very close to the boat pick up.

The Rowans, 76 Southampton Road, Lymington. 01590 672276. Two twin rooms at £45 per room. Earliest breakfast 0800-0830 but, by arrangement, cereals, toast, tea/coffee can be left out. Alternatively, packed sandwiches or similar can be provided.

Victoria B & B, High Street, Lymington. 01590 688416. 3 double rooms at £45 per room. Earliest breakfast 0700.

Auplands B & B, 22 Southampton Road, Lymington. 01590 675944. 2 double rooms and a twin room. Earliest breakfast 0730. £45-£50 per room.

Hilden B & B, Southampton Road, Lymington. 01590 623682. Can accommodate 6. Earliest breakfast 0630. £48 per couple.

Monks Pool B & B, Waterford Lane. 01590 678850. Has 3 rooms comprising 1 double, 1 twin, 1 double or twin, and can additionally accommodate a single. Cost from £20 to £30 per person. Earliest breakfast 0630 but prefers later! Welcomes divers.

Honeysuckle House B & B, 24 Clinton Road, Lymington. 01590 676635. One double room. Costs £23 per person or £30 for one. Earliest breakfast 0800-0830 but will leave out cereals/toast by arrangement.

Baynton Guest House, 28-30 Southampton Road, Lymington. 01590 675009. Seven rooms available comprising doubles, twins and singles. Costs are £45 per double or twin room and £25-£30 for a single. Earliest breakfast 0630.

Camping/caravanning:

For those who wish to pitch a tent or park a caravan please phone the Forestry Commission on 0131 3146505. There are ample sites in the New Forest but these do become busy during the summer holidays, so you may wish to book early.

Eating out:

There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in Lymington all within easy reach of the town center. Take your choice of English, Chinese, Indian, or pub grub.

Entertainment:

Unfortunately Lymington isn't quite the centre of the universe, but if you want a night on the town, there is plenty on offer in both Bournemouth and Southampton in terms of night clubs, casinos, cinemas, restaurants etc.
